ADHD Coaching for Young Adults

Does Life Feel Harder Than It Should?

Whether you’re in school, starting your first job, or figuring out what’s next, life suddenly comes with a whole new set of responsibilities. You’re expected to stay on top of academics, juggle time with family and friends, keep up with work, and somehow balance everything else life throws your way.

You may find yourself wondering why everyone else seems to have adulthood figured out while you’re working twice as hard just to keep up.

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

Whether you’ve been diagnosed with ADHD, you’re beginning to question whether it could explain your experiences, or you’re simply trying to make sense of your own daily struggles, you’re in the right place.

ADHD in School, Work & Everyday Life

School

Keeping up with school can feel exhausting, even when you’re motivated to succeed. Whether you’re in high school, college, university, or trade school, you’re expected to meet deadlines, prepare for exams, stay organized, and manage an increasing workload—all while trying hard not to fall behind.

Work

Starting your first job or building your career comes with a new set of expectations. Managing your schedule, arriving on time, prioritizing tasks, switching between responsibilities, and staying focused throughout the day can feel overwhelming when executive function challenges are working behind the scenes.

Everyday Life

As you become more independent, you’re also expected to manage everyday responsibilities such as appointments, finances, meals, laundry, errands, and maintaining routines—all while balancing your own goals, relationships, and well-being.

You Know What to Do, but Why Is It Hard to Follow Through?

For many young adults who have been diagnosed—or who may be questioning whether ADHD is part of their story—there’s often a gap between intention and action.

You want to get things done, but staying focused, prioritizing tasks, or finishing what you’ve started can feel like such a struggle. Small tasks pile up. Deadlines sneak up on you. The more overwhelmed you feel, the harder it can be to know where to begin.

Over time, it’s easy to start believing that you’re lazy, unmotivated, or simply “bad at adulting.” But that’s rarely the full picture.

It’s often connected to executive function—the brain’s self-management system that helps you plan, organize, manage time, regulate emotions, shift between tasks, and follow through on your intentions.

Understanding how your brain works doesn’t remove the challenges, but it can certainly change how you respond to them.

Support Whether You're Studying, Working, or Finding Your Path

As the parent of a young adult with ADHD, and as a Certified ADHD Life Coach and Executive Function Coach who discovered my own ADHD later in life, I know that your challenges and goals are unique to you. That’s why I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions.

Instead, we’ll take the time to better understand how your brain works, identify what’s getting in your way, and explore practical strategies that fit your goals, whether that’s:

  • Staying on top of schoolwork, exams, and deadlines
  • Managing responsibilities at work
  • Building routines that support everyday life
  • Reducing overwhelm and procrastination
  • Strengthening confidence as you become more independent
  • Taking meaningful steps toward the future you want to build

Whether you’ve recently been diagnosed, are beginning to wonder if ADHD could explain your experiences, or simply want practical support, you’ll find a space where you can ask questions, learn, grow, and move forward without judgment.

Your Way Forward Starts with One Conversation

If you’ve recognized yourself in the experiences on this page, you’ve already
taken an important first step—becoming curious about how your brain works and
what might be possible with the right support. Every coaching journey is unique,
but it usually unfolds in three simple steps.

Step 1: Start with a Conversation

Everything begins with a free 20-minute Discovery Call.

This is a chance for us to get to know each other, talk about what’s been
challenging, and explore whether ADHD coaching feels like the right fit for
you. There’s no pressure, no expectations, and no obligation—just an open,
supportive conversation.

Step 2: Gain Clarity

If coaching feels like the right next step, we’ll begin with a Compass Session.

During this 90-minute session, we’ll explore your strengths, identify the
challenges getting in your way, and uncover the patterns that have been making
school, work, or everyday life feel harder than they need to be.

You’ll also experience coaching firsthand, giving you a genuine feel for what
it’s like to work together. Together, we’ll create a clearer understanding of
where you are today and what you’d like to work toward.

Step 3: Build Lasting Change

The Your Way Forward coaching package is where practical change begins.

Together, we’ll develop realistic, ADHD-friendly systems that help you manage
everyday life with less stress, more confidence, and greater independence.

The goal is creating sustainable changes that continue supporting you long
after coaching has ended.

Frequently Asked Questions - Young Adults

No. Many young adults begin ADHD coaching before receiving a formal diagnosis because they’re looking for practical support with challenges like procrastination, overwhelm, organization, or managing everyday responsibilities.

Whether you’ve been diagnosed, suspect you may have ADHD, or simply relate to the experiences described on this page, coaching can help you better understand how your brain works and develop strategies that support your goals.

While coaching doesn’t diagnose or treat ADHD, it can be a valuable source of guidance as you navigate school, work, and increasing independence.

ADHD coaching helps young adults develop practical strategies to navigate school, work, and everyday life with greater confidence. Together, we’ll identify the challenges that are getting in your way, build ADHD-friendly systems that fit your lifestyle, and strengthen skills like planning, time management, organization, and follow-through.

Whether you’re preparing for exams, starting your first job, or learning how to manage life more independently, coaching provides personalized support that’s tailored to your goals instead of a one-size-fits-all approach.

Many young adults notice their ADHD challenges become more obvious after high school, not because ADHD suddenly gets worse, but because life changes.

As you move into college, university, work, or independent living, much of the external structure you’ve relied on disappears. You’re suddenly expected to manage your own schedule, meet deadlines, balance competing responsibilities, and stay organized without regular reminders or built-in routines.

For young adults with ADHD (or those who suspect it may be playing a role), this transition can make executive function challenges more noticeable. ADHD coaching helps you build practical systems and strategies so you can manage those new responsibilities with greater confidence and independence.
